Friends of Cookeville

It's amazing how the lacrosse community is eager to help new programs. Our team has been blessed to have many friends who have donated their time and money to our development. Below are a few folks that have gone the extra mile to help us get started.

buff grub

Buff Grub, former University of Tennessee Lacrosse Club coach came to Cookeville to do a clinic for the boys.

douglas kirk

Douglas Kirk, lacrosse referee, approaches the game with a teacher's heart. He taught while he refereed our first game, came to practice and worked with the boys, and also lent us videos to help us learn the game. His love for the game is so evident in every thing he does.

us lacrosse association

U.S. Lacrosse, the governing body of the sport, is the main reason we were able to field a team. Thanks to an equipment grant, we were able to outfit and field 18 players. Much thanks to Jennifer Allen, Steve Stenersen, and Amy Jarboe. herald citizen

The Herald Citizen, our local Cookeville newspaper did a great feature story on our budding lacrosse program. Much praise goes to Jill Thomas for putting in the extra effort to develop the story. Read it!

Team Parents

We have great team parents. Whether it was car pooling to games, replenishing the ball bag, getting the field lined, or chipping in for tournament fees, our parents have always been there to help and cheer on their kids playing a game that they knew very little about.

ymca

The YMCA sponsored our team and gave us field space. Thanks to Ann and Nick at the Y for their help in getting us started. ymcainmidtn.org/
