It's amazing how the lacrosse community is eager to help new programs. Our team has been blessed to have many friends who have donated their time and money to our development. Below are a few folks that have gone the extra mile to help us get started.
Buff Grub, former University of Tennessee Lacrosse Club coach came to Cookeville to do a clinic for the boys.
Douglas Kirk, lacrosse referee, approaches the game with a teacher's heart. He taught while he refereed our first game, came to practice and worked with the boys, and also lent us videos to help us learn the game. His love for the game is so evident in every thing he does.
U.S. Lacrosse, the governing body of the sport, is the main reason we were able to field a team. Thanks to an equipment grant, we were able to outfit and field 18 players. We have great team parents. Whether it was car pooling to games, replenishing the ball bag, getting the field lined, or chipping in for tournament fees, our parents have always been there to help and cheer on their kids playing a game that they knew very little about.
